1999-2002        TechnoAngel - Principal operating private business providing computer consulting, training, Information Architecture and Web design services to clients. Recently authored "Layout Design for the Web" course module for Penn State University's IST WebPro certification series. 1998-1999        Penn State UniversityLife Sciences Consortium

                        Computer Lab Supervisor Supervised and coordinated day-to-day operations of the Center for Computational Biology (CCB); Network Coordinator for the Biotechnology Institute; Systems Administration Support for Windows, WinNT, Macintosh, and UNIX operating systems; created, coordinated, and delivered training to staff, faculty and students. Maintained and developed the various Internet servers of the Life Sciences Consortium (Web, Scheduling, and FTP).

1995-1996        Penn State University - Instructor - Liberal Arts 283

                        Practical Computing for the Liberal Arts. Provided a general introduction to computers with practical experience using DOS, Windows, E-mail, the World Wide Web, Usenet News, MS Access, Word, and Excel software.

1990-1997        Penn State University - Office of Administrative Systems

                        Multimedia Programmer. Responsible for the maintenance of the diskette version of the Penn State Electronic Application using a number of multimedia applications including Macromedia Director and Adobe Photoshop. Collaborated with multi-department team to integrate data collected into centralized University databases.

                        Office Automation Specialist. Provided consultative support services to University staff regarding the design, development and implementation of Office System concepts. Support for IBM SNA and TCP/IP communications protocols, microcomputer configurations and integration of data from mainframe databases with microcomputer software. Prepared and presented seminars to University-wide groups on various software packages and An Introduction to Web Graphics. Participated as member of multi-department team presenting Internet seminars (InterNexus) to a number of varied, state-wide audiences.

1988-1989        Penn State University - Commonwealth Education System Support Center   

                        Consultant. Hot-line telephone support and written documentation for state-wide data communications network utilizing a wide mix of computer equipment and software. Served as Site Administrator for DEC PCSA Local Area Network in Old Main administration building. Planned and conducted training sessions on topics ranging from Desktop Publishing Using Pagemaker to Basic Networking.

1986-1987        Northeast Computer Institute

                        Software Evaluator. Wrote and published technical evaluations of Macintosh and IBM agricultural software produced by universities throughout the United States. Proofread  software  catalog and produced newsletter articles.

1985                 Computerland of Acadiana -- Lafayette, La.  Sales Representative:  Sales, installation, and support of IBM and compatible microcomputer systems and software.

1973-1976        United States Peace Corps Volunteer. -- Worked with Costa Rican counterparts in Basic Grains Research and Extension.  Gathered agricultural production, price, and cost data for the Ministry of Agriculture.  Field supervisor for Basic Grains Census of 1977.
